HOLY SHIT i’m fucking in love with bad_news and everything the band is doing with their new songs because like
compare bad_news with blame and campus and weapon
they’re all so different???? but they all work. they all sound like bastille. and that’s amazing.
i decided to write this because the realization just hit me life a truck: holy balls, it’s the lead singer of my favourite band’s birthday. maybe i should post something.
so here i am, posting something about it.
happy birthday, dan smith. i know you’re getting tons of messages from fans and stuff, and i think it’s beautiful that a band you created is reaching so many people, and bringing so many of us together. i think it’s fucking amazing, to be honest. the love of you, woody, kyle, and will, and the love of the music, and the love of everything you’ve done, has brought together hundreds of people. that’s on you. we know you can be self deprecating, and you don’t give yourself enough credit. all the members of bastille helped a lot of people. but you’re the one who started it all, dan. you started bastille. you are the incredibly intelligent man behind all of this, and i, along with many others, am eternally grateful. you gave us something to love, and we all hope you know how thankful we are.
my best friend recently moved to a different country, and i’ll be going to visit her in november, to see you guys live. while it’s unlikely, i’m hoping i can meet you, and the band, to tell you this in person. thank you, dan. thank you so much. for everything.
